I’m Katie Kheriji-Watts – a writer, podcaster, and public speaker. I’m from California, I’ve lived in Paris since 2010, and I work in both English and French. My work focuses on art, power, the body, and transformative experience.
I recently completed a memoir about trying to make one of life’s most difficult decisions: whether or not to have kids. It’s also about how processing my strong ambivalence towards parenthood led me to examine the legacy of growing up in a family that practised religiously sanctioned corporal punishment, and the eating disorder I developed as a young dancer.
My essays and reporting have been featured in global media outlets, and I was a contributing editor at CND Magazine. I’ve created, produced, and hosted multiple podcasts, interviewing artists and leaders for high-profile institutions. I also worked for a decade at the intersection of culture and international relations – curating events, facilitating workshops, moderating discussions, and giving speeches.
I’m represented by Carla Briner at the Anna Jarota Agency.
